China concludes world’s artistic swimming with 3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze

China’s Shi Haoyu and Cheng Wentao won the artistic swimming mixed duet event gold medal with 225.102 points at the World Aquatics Championships on Saturday.

Mexico’s Itzamary Gonzalez Cuellar and Diego Villalobos Carrillo took silver with 192.55, and Dennis Gonzalez Boneu and Mireia Hernandez Luna from Spain finished third with 183.4207

It was China’s third gold in the discipline, and 14th overall in Fukuoka. Chinese artistic swimmers concluded their campaign with three golds, one silver and one bronze. Shi and Cheng won the bronze in mixed duet technical last Sunday.

Earlier on Friday, the Chinese squad claimed the team free title with its eight members scoring 329.1687 points, followed by Japan with 317.8085 and Ukraine with 256.2415.

The first gold came from the team acrobatic event and the silver was from the women’s duet free.
