Jordan North has already bagged himself a new job at a competing station after announcing his departure from BBC Radio 1 . He’s set to replace top radio star Roman Kemp on Capital FM’s Breakfast Show, along with Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
Jordan, who began working as a freelance presenter for Radio 1 in 2014, has often filled in for well-known names like Scott Mills, Nick Grimshaw and Matt Edmondson. Last year, he teamed up with Vick Hope to host the Radio 1 Drivetime Show a role which will now be taken over by reality TV star Jamie Laing.
A source told The Sun: “Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he could not be more excited. It is absolutely huge for him and although it’s hard to leave the BBC he is excited to get started on Capital. Jordan’s decision has been a hard pill to swallow for the BBC but there was nothing they could do to change his mind.”
