CAN News | North Korean leader Kim tours airport in Russian Far East

A Russian state-run news agency says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Saturday inspected an airport on the outskirts of Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East.

The report said that Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu explained to Kim about Kinzhal missiles, which Russia says are hypersonic and can be mounted on fighter jets.

Russia’s state-run television aired footage of Kim viewing military planes at the airport. The aircraft reportedly included Tupolev-95 long-range strategic bombers and Sukhoi-34 fighter jets.Russia’s defense ministry said Kim later inspected the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok.Aboard a frigate, Shoigu and a navy commander reportedly briefed Kim about weapons mounted on the vessel including a Kalibr cruise missile.

The North Korean leader is continuing his tour in the Far East after talks with President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday at a spaceport in the region.
