The start of the high school football season is days away.
A pair of Thursday night games kick off the season in Stark County on Aug. 19: Zach Slates makes his debut as Perry head coach when the Panthers play at neighborhood-rival Central Catholic, while Sandy Valley plays at Fairless.
The rest of the area teams open the season the next night.
